A tuition cut is a tuition cut

However, there are lifestyle changing price declines and then there is the tuition cut that William Jessup University is offering. From the Sacramento Business Journal:
"This is the right time to cut the cost of higher education," university president Bryce Jessup said in a news release. "Our students and their families will face enough economic challenges in the year ahead. We want to do all we can to allow students to pursue their educations to prepare themselves for their futures."
Five hundred dollars is "all we can do"? While the tuition cut is approximately 2.5%, the absolute dollar amount is less than a single semester's worth of books. Granted the school is very small and evangelical in nature, but it still costs approximately $20,000 per year to attend!

According to the university's enrollment profile there are 512 students at William Jessup. Thus, the University's "sacrifice" is about $256,000 for the year. I am somewhat of a cynic when it comes to the rhetoric.

Nevertheless, a tuition cut is a tuition cut - more power to William Jessup University.
