The BLS's Time Use Survey suggests that there are stark differences between men and women in the types of sports in which they engage.
There are some physical issues which help determine which sports certain individuals play - I guarantee you won't see me on an American football field - but one wonders how much of this is driven by preference (rather than price). If there are dramatic differences in preferences for sports, this might have implications for Title IX issues on campus.
