How do we know? Because UTA Football exists. The club team played yesterday afternoon and here is a (admittedly shaky) video of UTA's third-quarter touchdown:
The game was $2 for admission, $1 for soda and pizza, and there were probably 350 people in attendance. That's almost more than show up to basketball games and much more than show up to baseball games. I have a feeling that UTA might have the demand to justify a DI-AA Southland Conference team in a few years.
I definitely wish the team luck. In my opinion the lack of football has been a downer.
