As a wise man once said, "there's a fine line between stupid and clever." We went to Canton, Texas, today for First Monday Trade Days. It is impossible to convey exactly how large this event is, but every month the best woodworkers, craftsman, junk sellers, and just about everyone else under the sun comes to Canton to sell stuff. It is an hour east of Arlington on I-20 and anyone who hasn't gone should.
It is a great place to see the spectrum of humanity. I try to remember to carry a camera so to memorialize the innovative ways people spell words on their hand made signs. Sometimes the spellings are clearly intentionally wrong but clever. Other times it seems more likely that the person making the sign simply didn't know any better.
Today's best sign seems to merge a bit of the clever with the stupid. I'll leave it up to you to decide:
