Georgia takes care of business against Georgia Southern - GO DAWGS!!

Okay, so we beat up on a Div I-AA team, but hey the Eagles have a won a couple of national championships in DI-AA, so they aren't a complete joke.

Unfortunately, it looks like this season might be shaping up like it was a few years ago. Oregon State takes it to the LSU Tigers, but in the end the Tigers walk away with a victory. LSU scored late to tie and scored a touchdown in overtime, but the kicker from Oregon State needs to be put on a suicide watch - he missed three extra points.

Did LSU win or did Oregon State lose?

In the end, if the Dawgs take care of their schedule, which would include beating South Carolina, Marshall, LSU, Florida, Auburn, Georgia Tech, and a couple of other teams, the Dawgs will contend. It would have been nice if the Beavers had beaten the Bengals so that Georgia would have climbed a notch - there is a high probability that there could be three BCS champions that are undefeated this year, which will really put things in a pickle.

A couple of years back, Florida State missed another field goal against Miami (wide right, if I recall) which allowed Oklahoma to play Miami for the National Championship. Georgia played Florida State in the Sugar bowl and mopped the floor with the Seminoles - if someone else had made a field goal Georgia would have played OU for the national championship.

What a great day of football - even the Civil War in Colorado. It is nice to have a break from the politics - the next two months are a godsend for the sports fan - NASCAR, MLB, NCAA Football, NFL, and the PGA, plus there is always Poker.
