Stand strong Paul Hamm

So the world wants Paul Hamm to give up his gold medal? Did the Russians give back their gold medal in the 2002 Olympics or when they "beat" the U.S. in basketball in 1972? Nope.

The clamor about the mistaken difficulty ranking and the insistence that Yang would have won the gold if you just give him back the tenth of a point reminds me of students who argue about one question on a test while ignoring the possibility that there are other portions of the test that might be wrong.

Giving back the tenth of a point in difficulty would have changed the medal rankings only if the officials ignored the fourth "hold" Yang did on the parallel bars, evidently a clear violation of the rules which carries a two tenths deduction (Read more...).
