That is my take on why many didn't like Ronald Reagan. I was "growing up" during his presidency and was more worried about getting to soccer practice than world events. However, my reading of the history of that period is that Ronald Reagan was a much-needed personality for this country and the world.
It is a shame that so many (a bit older than me) held him in such disdain, perhaps the same way that many of my generation hold Bill Clinton in disdain. On the other hand, it seems that many who profess a hatred for Ronald Reagan also seem to have a hatred for the American experiment.
Ronald Reagan: thank you and rest in peace.
