The SEC has not fared very well in the tournament so far.
Alabama takes out #1 seed Stanford.
Vanderbilt takes out NC State.
Florida takes a drubbing from Manhattan.
South Carolina loses to Memphis.
#1 Seed Kentucky loses to Alabama - Birmingham.
#2 Seed Mississippi State takes a dive against Xavier.
The Kentucky loss definitely reduces my interest in the tournament, perhaps the folks in Palo Alto are thinking the same thing, however I will be drawn to watch nonetheless.
On the other hand, it is good to see that there is a lot of parity in college basketball. While no #1 seed has yet lost to
a #16 seed, outside of the most obvious mismatched teams - UT San Antonio against Stanford is not a real contest - there is very little that can be truly predicted. The games so far have been blowouts for underdogs or very close at the end.
When will NCAA football figure out that there is money in them thar playoffs?
